Having a heart for education since 1990, Seko Varner describes himself as an Edu-Tainer, which blends the terms, Educator and Entertainer. Seko follows a mission of improving the lives of others.  He currently runs his entertainment firm, directs a youth mentorship program named The Golden Fold, volunteers with Green Run High School, and works as a One-Stop Operator for the Hampton Roads Workforce Development Board via a contract with Tidewater Community College.

A devout supporter of public education, Seko has a long-standing love for Virginia Beach City Public Schools. Following his wife’s footsteps, Seko’s children became Windsor Oaks Warriors in the first grade and have been Beach students ever since. In 2010 Seko’s employ as a Special Education records auditor allowed him to spend quality time in all of the Virginia Beach schools. In 2013 Seko completed a Masters level internship in Green Run High School and became Green Run High’s ACCESS Advisor in 2014.

Seko’s bachelor’s degree from Hampton University, coursework at Old Dominion University, Master’s degree from Regent University, and Endorsement in Educational Leadership from George Washington University has supported Seko’s mission of aiding students to create personal value via education.

Seko worked as a school counselor/liaison and later as a special education teacher in Portsmouth, Virginia. In Virginia Beach City Public Schools Seko has worked as a Special Education Auditor and a special Educator Teacher’s Assistant. As a college and career counselor with the ACCESS College Foundation, Seko provided support and guidance to families in Norfolk’s Historic Booker T. Washington High School and Virginia Beach’s Green Run High School.  Seko also has a business background as a Real Estate agent, and Financial Services provider, and has owned a special events entertainment firm named Positive Vibes Inc. since 1991.
